Finding Peace Within

Find your inner peace!

How to release Stress in a matter of minutes!

The world that we live in has dramatically changed.  We have faced physical separation and emotional connection that may cause us to feel alone.  Our hearts may be broken by witnessing that we’ve known, crumbling right in front of our eyes. According to different sources, the new normal is here to stay longer than we expected.

The level of stress has been high for most of us during Covid and sometimes it is higher than we even realized.

Yesterday, we went out to pick up lunch.  We walk into the restaurant and I started noticing everyone wearing masks and following social distancing.  The employees are working hard to get everyone’s orders ready wearing masks, following a system that was set up to keep everyone safe.  Even though I’ve seen this scene almost on daily bases, this time it hit me.

I start wondering if we will ever be able to get together without having to wear masks or having to follow social distancing? Sadness fills my heart, standing in line to pick up our food and accidentally bump into a gentleman walking in the opposite direction toward me.

Fear takes me away for a few minutes and I hear my husband calling me, saying, are you ok?  The stress of the whole experience starts to be too hard to handle.

I take a deep breath asking myself why I’m reacting to this situation so harshly and realize that my focus is on the circumstances not where I am in the moment. Trying to fix something that was out of my control and also in the future.

Notice, how many times have you experienced similar feelings doing simple things like going shopping or walking?

Fear comes in when we try to fix the future or the past.  We know that is impossible, but the mind can’t work any other way.  Its job is to find problems and fix them and when that doesn’t work, it goes into a fight or flight mode, creates fear to keep us safe.

How to let go!

To let go of fear and conflict, connect with your inner self.  The peaceful and power being within you.  How?  Meditation is one the most powerful tools we can use to connect with our inner self.  It has a number of benefits and one of them is creating inner peace and calmness in the body.

We returned home, I had to change my clothes and was able to calm down after meditating for 30 minutes.

Stress and fear may come up because of the situation we live in.  And when it does, remember this quote from Tony Robbins:

“You are not the manager of your life’s circumstances but the creator of your life”

We always have a choice to either give up to the worries and fears that surround us or use them as opportunities to make our lives better.
