Why there is so much fear within meWhy there is apprehension within meThe fire burns within meThe actions die within meI can see me free and without fearWho is that person so content and free?Contemplating, organizing, doing and wanting Reaching for what? For what and For whom and why?In the rat race and can not stand itIn the motions of being pulled so different waysI can not stand itKnowing what’s important, yet not going for itBeing stopped in my tracks, yet not going for itWanting to know why? Who cares, yet not going for itKnowing it will pay off, yet not going for it.Pulling and pushing doing what’s best for allI’ve been there now and for a whileWondering what’s missingWondering what it will takeCourage is what’s missingBeing in action is what is what it takes

As the tears running down my faceWords are pouring on my paper Thoughts are going through my headWon’t let me sleep tonightJust want to let you know How love and caring can steal the showYes, you may say that’s preposterousLoving and caring such a normal concept? No glamour or fameHow would they rise above the rest?Have you loved and cared for him/her?The ones who needed or asked for it?What did you do when your mom asked for help?Or the neighbor needed a hand?Did you turn your back and complained?Or did you rise to the task and lent a hand? How did it feel when you loved and cared? How did it feel when you turned around and left? You see I believe that God gave us life for a reasonWhat is yours? What is mine? Care to reason?Love is what it’s all about in my eyesLove of God, children and family here and perhaps aboveWhat will you leave behind after your time is up?Will it say “lies here the one who had?Taken care of business and made money, you asked?Or will it say, he loved and cared For that’s what he chose to bareYou choose those words today Tomorrow may be too lateLove and care for the one who has a needTomorrow another will care for you when you have a need We’re all here on the same journey togetherLet us raise a hand and help one another For the world will never changeIf you and I never learnTo be one and though apartWe are all children of the same God.

Looking out the window through the blindsThe sun is setting down slowly behind the treesFeeling tired but I’m centeredWondering what is laid aheadSo much has happened since I last wroteMy words of “Live it” are now out of controlLife has been a roller coaster for all I knowWe think we’ve got to fix it, but may be noDoes life need fixing? I’m not sureWhat needs fixing is what we knowAll we know is what’s in front of usAll we know is the reality for usWe are here for a short timeScared, happy, worried, jazzed all the timeMy experiences are what I seeMy commitment is what’s behind meBeing committed to a life of joyCreating possibilities is a life of choiceWe have a choice to be happy or sadDespite the economy’s ups and downsCelebrating ourselves, our loved ones, the world and the people in itMaking all of it wrong and resist it all for the price of being rightYes, there is a choice every moment, every hour , every dayTo you who’s reading this poem, which one will you choose today?
