How does a Distant Reiki Session work?
Clients have asked me about what Distant Reiki is and how we can send energy healing from a distance?
To understand how sending energy to someone from a distance is even possible, we need to realize that we are not just bodies that we can see and touch. We are also energy in motion and our energy field covers a much larger field around us than we can realize, very similar to the picture on the right. Each one of us shares this field with a connection to the rest of the population.
Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy. The healing that Reiki energy provides surpasses time or place. There are different levels of attunement for a Reiki Practitioner. During the second level, we were taught how to send energy from a distance through special Reiki symbols.
This process was originated by the founder of Usui Reiki Ryoho, Mikao Usui (臼井甕男 or Usui Sensei). He received 3 symbols during his meditation on Kurama Yama, a sacred mountain north of Kyoto, in March of 1922. These symbols have been used in the past and are being used now by Reiki Practitioners to send energy in person or from a distant.
Distant Reiki sessions are more effective and powerful than receiving energy healing in person. Each practitioner has their own way of practicing Distant Reiki and they are all valuable.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee) comprises of two different Japanese characters, interpreted simply to mean Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki energy has an intelligence of its own and therefore knows where and how a person needs healing. Reiki is safely used at any time, in any place since “universal” means applicable or common to all purposes, conditions or situations. Most importantly Reiki expresses the quality of unconditional love and speeds up your body’s own natural healing process.
Reiki energy works on whatever level the recipient needs it, so the healer need not direct or control the energy but simply act as a vehicle for the energy transference. Reiki is non-invasive as you only have to lightly place your hands on the other person or even just above him/her in order to conduct the Reiki. Reiki Really Works: A Groundbreaking Scientific Study
Reiki Case Studies The most recent data analyzed (during 2008-9) shows strong evidence that Reiki is indeed responsible for a positive biological response in both humans and animals. The strongest evidence (rated “excellent” in the Process) was reported in the most carefully controlled of all experiments; non other than laboratory rats. In both 2006 and 2008 stressed-out lab rats received Reiki treatments and they all showed significantly reduced stress, anxiety and depression responses. “Sham” or bogus Reiki treatments were given to the placebo group and they showed no reduction in stress, anxiety or depression. Testing in humans performed between 1993 and 2006 showed ratings from Satisfactory to Excellent, all suggesting that the benefit of Reiki treatments were positive in controlling pain levels in humans. There were some “confounding variables”, which is typical in hospital (as opposed to laboratory) studies; however, the placebo Reiki treatments in this experiment were by contrast ineffective in controlling pain. Why are you offering Distant Reiki vs. in person sessions?
Reiki sessions are usually administered in person. Energy is transferred from the practitioner's hands (light touch) to the client. Due to the Pandemic that we are still going through, in person Reiki sessions are on hold till further notice.
Offering Distance Reiki provides a way for people to receive the benefits of Reiki without the worries of being exposed.
Sessions are done over the phone at the comfort and security of your home, no need for you to travel.
How is a Distant Reiki Session designed?
On a previously scheduled time, you will call me from where you are preferably from your home where you feel safe and will not be interrupted during our session. Sessions usually lasts between 20 to 30 minutes. Please allow a few hours after to rest and hydrate.
During the first few minutes we will talk about the feelings or emotions that are coming up for you that maybe causing stress, fear, worries or anxiety.
Through special coaching methods and instructions, you will release some of the emotions or pain that you are feeling. During the rest of the call you are invited to sit or lay down comfortably on your bed and have the phone close to your ear or wear a headset so we can communicate. At this time we will start with Distant Reiki healing, your job is to close your eyes and relax listening to a soothing music playing in the background. During the process I tune into the energy field and will let you know if there are any negative energy, emotions or blocks that I am feeling. You will release them by breathing or other healing modalities. After the session is over, you are to rest and drink plenty of water for the remainder of the day.

I did a remote Reiki session with Zoya, and I did wonder how Reiki could work remotely even though I know it's all energy.
