Meditate to a calm body and mind

In the last post, we talked about how allowing our emotions to surface and feeling them creates inner peace and balance.

Today lets look at Meditation, how it can help calm the body and silence the mind.

If you are a beginner , have been meditating off and on, these steps could be really helpful. Please schedule a few minutes in your daily calendar to try the following:

  • Sit quietly somewhere that feels comfortable and you won't be distracted. Light a candle and play a calming music.

  • Start taking a few deep breaths toward your stomach without forcing yourself.

  • Just focus on the breath, if you notice being side tracked, bring your focus back to your breath. (This is normal by the way)

  • As you stay in this quite place and allow the focus to remain with your breath, you will start noticing a new peaceful feeling emerging.

  • The longer you allow this feeling to stay the deeper it gets. And you feel more relaxed.

  • When you feel you are done, start wiggling your toes and your fingers. And gradually come back into the room by slowly opening your eyes. Allow the peaceful space that you're in stay for as long as you like.

  • Congratulate yourself by starting your meditation practice.

Please note, There is no right or wrong of doing this, just focus and connect with your inner source, noticing and feeling the magic happening.

Start by meditating 5 minutes a day and extend that to a few minutes longer every time.
